Ola has driven itself to foreign lands. Its recent international expansion came in the UK. There, it launched its service in 7 different cities. Besides India, the company sees its cabs rolling down the streets in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. It has now announced to set up itself in its arch-rival, Uber’s turf, San Francisco.
The Bengaluru-based company has its presence 150 cities across India. And now, the company seems to drive itself overseas. Its recent international expansion came in the United Kingdom. There, the company launched its services in 7 different cities. Along with that, the company has its tyres rolling in Australia and New Zealand.
Recent numbers speak that the company serves about 150 million users. With that, it has provided 1 billion+ rides annually.
Currently, the company has four core operations. One of the four is Ola Electric. It is the company’s electric vehicles’ arm. Ola Electric recently saw the famous business tycoon, Ratan Tata, joining its investment board members.
Ola’s aim and game as it enters the rival streets
In its Advanced Technology Centre to be set up in San Francisco, the company feels like keeping it small and efficient. In here, the company looks to have only 150 engineers. They will work towards taking the company’s engineering and development operations up a gear.
This centre will develop tech solutions. It will come up with ways of inducting new technologies like autonomous vehicles. And for this, it will definitely look forward to hiring experts in the field of AI, ML, Data Sciences and Product development teams.
